Its about time I post in a blog I created nearly three months ago. For those who care to delve into my life, I will give a quick overview of the glorious 24.8ish years (or maybe just the last few) that have gone by. After spending my undergraduate years at St. Olaf College in Northfield MN, I headed south to Omaha NE, where I am currently a first year medical student at Creighton University. I am an avid runner and raced collegiate cross country and track during my time at Olaf. However, due to spending most of college injured from all the pavement pounding, I have switched to more cycling-oriented training and compete as a triathlete. This will sort-of be my second year training specifically for triathlons (did a few before that, but all of my training was running).
I headed home for Easter on Thursday, leaving the 65 degree Omaha weather behind, and woke up to 6 inches of fresh snow in MN. I was hoping to get outside and do some cycling this weekend, but it looks like Ill be stuck in the basement on the trainer. And running is out of the question. I messed my hip up 3 weeks ago and haven't ran in over 2 weeks (not that it is a huge cut from what I was doing anyways). Finally got to ortho/sports med doctor and had an MRI yesterday. They injected contrast into the capsule of my femur head, and the joint still feels incredibly bloated so biking probably won't feel too good for a few days.
Thats enough for one day.
